More Australia: The Blue Mountains

The Blue Mountains are a less than two-hour drive away from Sydney, and Marco and I made use of a rental car to spend a day in the area. We went for a hike, stopped at several beautiful look-outs and enjoyed seeing some exciting new rock formations, plants and scenery. We also had great Kaffee und Kuchen in Leura and I saw the only slightly scary-looking spider of my whole stay in Australia in a ladies' loo by a parking lot.

    1. Thanks very much. That spider was seriously the worst I saw. No snakes, no sharks, no crocodiles, nothing! I was disappointed and relieved at the same time! :o) I guess it also depends on where you go.

  2. What gorgeous scenery and such diverse plant life. I could have done without the photo of the spider though ;)

    1. He-he, thanks. I just put it up because so many people are scared to go to Australia because of the creepy crawlies, and this was literally the only slightly iffy spider I saw!

  3. This is breathtaking. I want to click my heels together and just be there. I will have to look on the map for this park. Cody and I talk about going to Australia for a vacation. This park looks like a place I'd want to check out for sure.

    1. Oooh, do you have concrete plans already? In any case, I'm excited for you! Australia was never on top of my list of places to go, but since my friend moved there, I 'had' to visit. :o) The landscape is pretty beautiful. I'm going to post my pictures from the Great Ocean Road soon, that was my favourite part. x

    1. Thanks, Jenna! If I could only have one bit of nature around me for the rest of my life, I would definitely also pick the beach. But all the different viewpoints and vistas you get in mountain regions can be pretty breathtaking. These photos don't even give proper justice to how vast and still those valleys were.
